Banned Book Club @ Tazewell Library

In this summer book club, we will discuss why these books have been challenged or banned. We will read brief articles on why books are currently being challenged in libraries and schools throughout the country. We will discuss First Amendment issues that surround censorship and how it applies to book challenges.

June: Maus by Art Spiegelman
July: I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou
August: The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
September: Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher (Banned Book Week is September 18 – 24th)
